Innovative Manuscript Authoring and Collaboration Application to use EM Ingest to Enable Automatic Transfer of Scholarly Manuscripts to Thousands of Journals Using Editorial Manager®

April 21, 2015 North Andover, MA, USA – Innovative author tool start-up company, manuscriptsapp.com, has entered into an agreement with Aries Systems to facilitate the transfer of manuscripts authored using its application into Editorial Manager. Cambridge, UK-based Manuscripts.app Ltd are developers of an easy to use writing app that helps authors prepare scholarly manuscripts in compliance with journal-specific requirements. It includes powerful outlining and editing functionality, and is built leveraging its creators’ prior experience as authors of scholarly articles, and as creators of multiple design-award-winning research tools.

EM Ingest is a service from Aries Systems that allows third party submission partners to add value during manuscript preparation, and automatically transfer manuscripts to journals on behalf of authors. Manuscripts.app Ltd joins other organizations that have recently adopted EM Ingest, including Editage®, a manuscript language editing service.

“Thanks to the agreement, authors will be able to outline and edit an article using Manuscripts, and submit it to a journal using Editorial Manager,” commented Richard Wynne, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Aries Systems. “The journal then contacts the author to collect any remaining information before final submission for peer review. This approach simplifies submission for authors and enables the capture of structured metadata for the journal.”

Matias Piipari, CEO and co-founder at manuscriptsapp.com, commented, “Manuscripts makes it incredibly easy to write complex scholarly content, and adding support for the EM Ingest API now makes it easier than ever before to also submit your work for publication. Several publishers have already agreed to be early adopters, in addition to papersapp.com, makers of the multiple award-winning Papers reference manager and citation tool. Manuscripts is available at www.manuscriptsapp.com (invitation only), and will be available as a public beta version during the next few weeks, in time for the general availability of the EM Ingest API.”

Matias Piipari and other representatives from EM Ingest Submission Partners will be presenting their solutions at the upcoming 13th Annual Editorial Manager User Group Meeting in Boston, MA on June 18 & 19. To learn more, or to register to attend, click here.

About Manuscripts (www.manuscriptsapp.com)

manuscriptsapp.com are makers of an easy to use authoring tool Manuscripts, which supports a scholarly author from the beginning to the end of a writing project. Manuscripts assists an author in key steps in getting published, starting from a journal specific manuscript template and an outlining, editing and collaborating workflow designed for a scholar, and finishing with a submission ready manuscript entirely created in Manuscripts. The app automatically completes preflight checks, reducing chances of technical errors reaching a publisher’s peer review or production system. Finally, at the end of a writing project, the author can use Manuscripts to submit the outcome of the project for peer review directly from the app.
