Top World Scientific Journals Go Live with Editorial Manager

December 1, 2006, North Andover, MA, USA – Today, five leading journals published by Singapore-based World Scientific launched Editorial Manager sites. Modern Physics Letters (A & B), International Journal of Modern Physics (A & B), and International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence are among the first World Scientific journals to use the online peer review system.

As a publisher of 128 scientific journals, and books by Nobel winners and other award-winning authors, World Scientific is the largest international scientific publisher in the Pacific Rim. Under a deal with Aries Systems, World Scientific plans to roll out Editorial Manager for additional journals in 2006 and 2007.

Rick Lee, IT Director at World Scientific, explains, “As a publisher with a wide range of publications, we needed a peer review system that could be easily customized for the specific needs of each journal. We selected Editorial Manager, in part, because we will have the power to configure and re-configure the system ourselves.” Currently, Editorial Manager is the only peer review system with hundreds of configuration options that publishers and journals can change without vendor assistance.
