Did You Know?

ConfigureSuggestEdtiorPreferences_screenshotDid you know that EM’s Suggest Editor functionality is free and simply configured for most journals? This means that journals can invite ranked candidate editors in configurable batches, automatically.

This is particularly useful for journals with large numbers of editors.

Contact your Account Coordinator today to discuss the Suggest Editor configuration options.

FundRef Sub-Agencies Functionality in Editorial Manager

Effective in version 12.0 support for FundRef in EM has been extended to include enhanced display of sub-agencies. For journals that have already activated FundRef data collection, no additional configuration steps are needed to begin taking advantage of increased funder detail leading to cleaner metadata downstream. SICOT OA Journal Launch

SICOTJ_JournalCoverEM user SICOT is among many journals launching an OA journal this year. SICOT-J is the latest journal published on EDP Open, the EDP Sciences Open Access portal, using Editorial Manager.

“The recently launched new Open Access journal SICOT-J receives already many submissions from all over the world,” said Catherine Brassac, Product Manager at EDP Sciences. “Creating a new journal is always an exciting challenge and thanks to EM, the configuration can be fast and run smoothly. The editors, authors and reviewers have quickly adopted the system, providing thereby short times from submission to first decision, a very important factor for selecting a journal.”

Introducing the NEW Interactive Grid Option

Editorial Manager sites upgrading to version 12.0 will notice a new ‘Search Submissions’ display option. The results can now be displayed in a grid that functions like an interactive spreadsheet. Users can set personal preferences to filter columns, modify column widths, reorder column sequence, and “freeze” headings and columns. Check out our video demonstration!

Malaysian Orthopaedic Journal Selects Editorial Manager

moj-coverMalaysian Orthopaedic Journal will soon deploy Editorial Manager in response to rapid uptake of the system by other journals in the field.

“Since we started publishing Malaysian Orthopaedic Journal in 2007, we have been looking at various editorial software systems,” said Dr. Saw Aik, Chief Editor, who said he sees Editorial Manager deployment signaling a ‘new phase’ at the journal.

“We noticed that Editorial Manager has many features that will potentially enhance the workflow and effectiveness of the peer review process. Now that we have reached the critical volume of submissions for each issue, we decided to engage Editorial Manager.”
