Did you know? Automated plagiarism detection in Editorial Manager

CrossCheck-iThenticate-logoQuestion-markCrossRef’s CrossCheck is an online service used to check for similarity between submitted manuscripts and published papers. Editorial Manager’s built-in functionality uniquely allows automated transfer of manuscripts to CrossCheck triggered by “workflow events” such as new submission, revision, or final decision of accept. This means that CrossCheck results are typically visible and available to editors when they log into EM, and without the need for separate editor log-in to CrossCheck. Watch the video now!

There is no charge for this feature from Aries. To learn more about how to configure, please contact your Aries Account Coordinator or attend the upcoming webinar.

Using Google Analytics with Editorial Manager

Laptop-SittingGuyAries customers seeking information about traffic to their EM site’s “Main Page” have found that Google Analytics is a great solution that is easy to implement. The web analytics tool offers insights such as number of unique visitors, the web source from which users were referred, and time spent on a page.

To implement, customers simply add the domain to their own Google Analytics account and forward the resulting javascript snippet and instructions to their Aries Account Coordinator to edit the journal site.

Please contact your Aries Account Coordinator for more information.

Aries Systems expands software campus

AriesNewBuildingWith new software engineering, customer service, product management, and human resources positions filled in 2011 and more jobs currently open, Aries’ growth is a moving story…literally!

In December, we completed the process of renovating a building next door to our main offices and a segment of staff has just happily settled in. While our main address remains the same, this additional space (about 8,000 square feet) facilitates enhanced communications between development teams and makes way for future hires.

Additional deployments of EM by Duke University Press

DUP_logoThe prominent publisher of books and journals, Duke University Press, currently manages the workflow of nine scholarly publications with Editorial Manager. The Press recently launched EM for the journals Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East; and French Historical Studies – and their Aries Account Coordinator is pleased to be configuring EM for additional journals!

Duke University Press publishes approximately 120 books annually, more than 45 journals, and five electronic collections.
