Offices Using Aries Systems’ Solutions Save on Support Costs

walletAries Systems has always striven to develop powerful workflow systems that balance configurability with friendly intuitive interfaces. Recent statistics from the Customer Service group indicate that this goal is being met. In the second quarter of 2008, our customers averaged less than half a charged support call each, while more than 50% of journals did not incur any additional support charges at all.

This accomplishment reflects Aries’ understanding of the “Total Cost of Ownership” principle. The cost of technology involves not just the acquisition cost, but also the costs of keeping the technology running. We invest substantially in configurability of the system, so that our customers can make almost all system behavior changes without any involvement from Aries.

EMUG 2008 Draws Record Attendance

EMUG2008This year’s Editorial Manager User Group meeting (EMUG) took place June 12th and 13th in Cambridge, Massachusetts. With the adoption of Editorial Manager by so many journals over the last year, attendance was at record levels. The meeting offered something for everyone – while new users were offered a comprehensive overview in “EM Bootcamp”, there were also in-depth sessions for more advanced users on using EM in fresh ways. Everyone got the chance to hear about the new features of Version 6.1, share their tips and tricks in the Workaround Workshop and discuss needed enhancements with Aries staff in the Feature Workshop. Plans have already begun for 2009; we hope you will join us at next year’s meeting!
