Did you know? You can ask reviewers’ permission to transfer their reviews

Editorial Manager (EM) journals increasingly make use of the “reject with option to transfer” feature to automate transfer of rejected manuscripts to other journals. However, when using this option it’s important to get permission from reviewers to include their identities and reviewer comments in the transfer package. For this reason, EM includes a reviewer form option to solicit this permission from reviewers. It only takes a few minutes to activate (by article type) but if you need assistance, contact us or your Account Coordinator.

Society for General Microbiology to deploy new editorial and production workflow technology from Aries Systems

The Society for General Microbiology (SGM), the largest microbiological society in Europe, has selected Aries Systems’ workflow solutions for manuscript submission, peer review, and production tracking.

Development partnership targets peer review quality

Aries Systems and STRIATUS/JBJS, Inc. are pleased to announce a development partnership that will allow relevant workflow data to be automatically transferred from Editorial Manager to PRE-score so that the PRE-score can be calculated and published with the manuscript. PRE-score is a transparent metric that will help readers identify journals that conduct ethical and rigorous peer review.

APCs and institutional memberships

While many publishers offer APC (Article Publication Charge) options for manuscript publication, there is growing interest in “institutional membership” models where academic institutions pay an annual fee instead of individual APCs.
