Did you know? Avoid citing retracted papers

Question-markEditorial Manager’s reference-processing module automatically links author-submitted bibliographies to PubMed and CrossRef. As part of this process, journal staff is alerted to citation errors including citations to retracted papers. Editorial Humors

From the perspective of the author hoping for speedy publication of his or her submission, the reviewer’s letter sometimes can be seen as a “dog’s breakfast,” whether or not this judgment is warranted! Our intention for this month’s Editorial Humors cartoon is to target the funny bones of editorial office staff, authors, and reviewers with a whimsical take on the peer review dynamic.

Washington-based users hold Enterprise Analytics Reporting (EAR) meetup

EAR-PieChartIn October, Aries customers in the Washington, D.C., area organized and gathered for the first localized Enterprise Analytics Reporting (an extended reporting module within Editorial Manager) meetup. Eight EM users attended and decided tentatively to meet once a month on an ongoing basis. Future meetings may include individual presentations on specified EAR and EM topics, case studies addressing non-routine reporting needs, and a general discussion of editorial office issues.
