Did You Know? Co-authors are people too!

Co-AuthorAuthenticationORCID-screenshotDid you know journals can configure an ORCID verification workflow for co-authors? Once a corresponding author adds a co-author to a submitted manuscript, a message is sent to that co-author requesting verification of their authorship and of their ORCID. This means that EM collects verified ORCID iDs, even for co-authors.

Downstream, editors can easily see which ORCID are verified with simple ‘ORCID green’ icons on the details page – a question mark for a non-authenticated ORCID, and an ‘iD’ logo authenticated iDs. For help configuring, contact your Account Coordinator.
