Editorial Manager “Proposals” option facilitates journals’ workflow

Proposals-menu-cornerWhether it’s part of their everyday workflow model or only occasionally used for special issues, EM’s Proposals Menu is a convenient way for journals to invite submissions from pre-selected Authors. The option to work with submissions on an invitation-only basis drastically cuts down time spent in screening submissions and allows for detailed issue planning.

CurrentOpinion-Neurology-JournalCoverLippincott Williams & William’s (LWW) Current Opinion series, comprised of two dozen journals, all make use of the Proposals menu, and some exclusively work with invited submissions. See Current Opinion in Neurology‘s submissions site here: http://www.edmgr.com/CONR.

Gastroenterology introduces online Author fee processing with great success

Gastroenterology Journal CoverIn January 2011, the American Gastroenterological Association journal, Gastroenterology, implemented submission and page charges. To do so, Aries Systems’ increasingly popular Commerce Manager was seamlessly integrated into the journal’s pre-existing Editorial Manager submission web site.

According to Christopher Lowe, AGA Assistant Managing Editor, “The outcome has surpassed our expectations. Commerce Manager was installed quickly and is easy for Authors and journal staff to use; the fees collected provide a valuable revenue boost to the society; and there has been an acceptable decline in the number of submissions.”

To find out more about the AGA, visit the association’s web site and check out thejournal submission site. Please contact marketing@ariessys.com for a demonstration of the highly configurable Commerce Manager, or view the product sheet.
