Publishers with many journals in their portfolio often need to manage assignments across several publications at once, requiring journal staff to switch between sites within the same system. This creates a taxing process of logging in and out to jump from one journal site to the next, causing delays and confusion for Editors juggling multiple workflows. To streamline this workflow downstream, Aries Systems offers Enterprise View (EV) – an innovative ProduXion Manager® (PM) feature – to provide a simplified and centralized approach to production task management.

Enterprise View can be leveraged by publications using PM that belong to the same Business Publisher within the same Unified Database (UDB). Once enabled, Enterprise View facilitates access to submissions and production tasks across multiple publications within a single interface through a new tab in the system’s main menu. Journal staff can easily view, access, and perform assigned tasks from all corresponding sister publications without having to manually and repeatedly sign in and out between different journal sites and accounts. When assigning a production task, the Editor can check the availability statistics of other Editors or production staff across all connected sister publications within the UDB. Additionally, production tasks can also be assigned in batch across multiple publications. If desired, the EV menu can be made a user’s default display upon login.

Editors can designate which of their publications within the UDB they need enterprise access to from the Update My Information page in PM. By entering the desired site acronyms, the system automatically verifies and matches the records behind the scenes. This also enables direct access to sister journals from the Go-To-Publication shortcut within the PM navigation bar, streamlining the switching between sites with automatic login. Editors can also search submissions across publications through Enterprise View by leveraging the publication code as a search criterion. As production staff toggle between different publications to manage various workflow tasks, they can easily return to the original journal site at any time. Enterprise View is a powerful feature for publishers with expansive portfolios, offering a more convenient and efficient channel for cross-publication management in PM.
