American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Adopts Editorial Manager for Submission and Peer Review

July 23, 2019 | North Andover, Massachusetts

Aries Systems Corporation is pleased to announce the adoption of its web-based manuscript tracking and peer review system, Editorial Manager®, by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

ASHA is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for more than 204,000 members and affiliates, including audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students. ASHA publications using Editorial Manager include American Journal of Audiology; American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology; Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research; Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools; and Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups.

Michael Cannon, Director of Serial Publications and Editorial Services, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), said: “Our program is highly focused on strengthening the evidence base in our discipline, so we needed a submission and peer review platform that could help us better meet the needs of our editorial boards, tailor our processes to our evolving scope of content, and more rapidly innovate in an ever-changing environment. Editorial Manager’s level of configurability and its many integrations with other systems will help us more rapidly and efficiently meet our goals.”

Commented Aries Director of Sales Jake Kelleher, “Aries is excited and honored to count the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as one of its partners on the Editorial Manager platform. We look forward to working with them to streamline their editorial workflow in support of their noble mission of making effective communication–a human right–accessible and achievable for all.”

With their recent launch of Editorial Manager, ASHA is already leveraging functionality such as cross-publication reporting using Enterprise Analytics Reporting, Duplicate Submission Check, and cross-publication Reviewer search. ASHA joins more than 6,700 journals already using Editorial Manager for submission and peer review.
