Simplified Editor Assignment in Version 12.2

Often, journal staff need to assign manuscripts to a chain of several editors. Within Editorial Manager, that activity is called assigning an editor chain.

editorswapDefault editor chains can be configured by article type. This results in big time savings because, with a single click, journal staff can assign manuscripts to a chain of several editors (e.g. Editor in Chief, Section Editor and Academic Editor). Selections and letter text can be modified on-the-fly, if needed, for a particular manuscript.

Just heard that one of the editors in the chain assigned to a manuscript is on sabbatical? Not a problem, substituting editors requires only a single click, and is not disruptive to the rest of the configured multi-editor chain.

These are just a couple examples of the smart features included in version 12.2.
