Free Webinar: Practicing Ethical Publishing to Support Research Integrity

In a world of plagiarism, citation and data manipulation, conflicts of interest, corrections and retractions, fraudulent peer review, questionable authorship, shifting business models, preprint servers, and more, integrity in scholarly publishing has never been more critical or more challenging. All stakeholders across the multi-faceted publishing landscape have a role to play in supporting this mission – a collective responsibility among researchers, publishers, institutions, funders, academics, societies, and service providers alike. In recent years, great efforts and strides have been made to increase awareness of, and create advancements towards, research integrity to promote the global dissemination of trustworthy and ethical knowledge.

The eighth annual Peer Review Week (PRW), which will be held from September 19th-23rd, is dedicated to the theme of “Research Integrity: Creating and Supporting Trust in Research.” In honor of PRW 2022, Aries Systems will be hosting a free webinar, Practicing Ethical Publishing to Support Research Integrity, featuring guest speakers from the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Join us on Wednesday, September 21st at 10am ET – Register today!

Practicing Ethical Publishing to Support Research Integrity

Wednesday, September 21 | 10am ET | Register Now

In this session, Aries Systems, APA, and COPE will discuss the importance of ethics in scholarly publishing and the benefits of partnership through a powerful publisher use case on their experience building and upholding a framework of ethical practices. Together during this webinar, we will:

  • Detail the impact of publication ethics on scholarly output and operations
  • Explore common or increasing ethical concerns/lapses at all stages of the publishing workflow
  • Spotlight APA’s collaboration with COPE to adopt and adhere their ethical standards
  • Highlight technical solutions available to detect or resolve ethical gaps

The theme for PRW 2022 was selected via an international survey opened to the publishing community earlier this year. Aries Systems is pleased to collaborate alongside more than 35 participating organizations on the Peer Review Week Steering Committee!
